The history of trading cotton cloth dates back to 800 A.D. when Arab merchants brought the material into Europe. The Cotton count is the amount of material measured in one hank which is 840 yards that altogether weighs one pound. The higher the cotton count the finer the yarn. A 200 cotton count is more complex and considered a higher quality material due to the soft silky texture.
